One Day in Paris

JUST ONE? What are the some of the best things to do in Paris only in one day? this means one thing .. I didn't have any time to lose. Got up early (7 am) and got ready to leave the hotel around 8 AM. While the rest of the fam are still getting ready, I decided to take about two hoursto wonder around the city. So it won't be much fun to go alone for the first time, meaning I took my brother as a company which was a good thing to do!

I have always heard about the Pavillon Elysée Café Lenôtre in Paris which is is consecrated to the art of entertaining. Reading about it before going to Paris siad "Le Pavillon Elysée is the place for epicurians who are passionate about gastronomy, fashionistas taking a break from shopping on the avenue Montaigne and for the hip events of Paris society." Deciding to go to have a good breakfast in Café Lenôtre - Le Pavillon Elysee which opens early enough for me to be there 8:30 AM.

I needed to make a reservation A MONTH ahead of time since its hard to stop by and find a free table but its always better to take the safe side. Reservations can be done on their website. While looking for a reservation online, even though it was a month ahead of my arrival, all tables were almost reserved ALL DAY everyday through the whole month (August) but lucky me got to fit us at one of the tables when its time to open which was a little early. We left the hotel at 8 AM heading to Champs Elysées taking the metro took us about 15 min to get there. Arriving at Champs Elysées metro station at around 8:20 we walked to Café Lenôtre arriving just on time to enjoy a wonderful breakfast by having a fantastic and I could add to that the best Quiche I have ever eaten!

Back to the hotel after a wonderful breakfast at Cafe Lenotre to get together with the fam then be able to start the day with all of them. We walked around the city at first to before some sightseeing around Paris. After walking around for a while, We stopped by "SUZETTE" for some crepes that I always crave for whenever I go out in Paris!

As always, my favorite crepe is a crispy nutella crepe! :D Crepiers are found everywhere in Paris since it attracts tourists with its tastey smell and delicious taste. Didn't wanna spend half an hour in Suzette so decided to eat the crepe while walking to our next destination, Arc de Trimophe which is just by the end of Champs Elysées avenue.

Again, taking the metro to Champs Elysée, Arrived there and it was so packed! walking by stores for some shopping on the way to Arc de Trimophe, stopped by Zara Men, Adidas, Celio, Jules, ESPRIT, and many many other shops including going to the mall which had more shops! Needed one whole day to finish but did it really quick since there wasn't much time to waste.

Finally, after walking for a long distance, arriving to Arc de Triomphe that stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle, also known as the "Place de l'Étoile" It is at the western end of the Champs-Élysées.

The triumphal arch honors those who fought for France, particularly during the Napoleonic Wars. On the inside and the top of the arc there are all of the names of generals and wars fought. Underneath is the tomb of the unknown soldier from World War I.

Since Eiffel Tower is not far from Arc de Trimophe or Champs-Élysées, we walked down to Eiffel Tower and the area surrounding it. The whole area with its surrounding was amazingly beautiful. Rested there for a little while because it was a quite long walking distance from Arc de Trimophe. Had lunch around the area while waiting to go to the top of the tower.

Paying the fee as of 9 Euros to get on top of the tower, got the chance to get a good view of Paris! There on top of the tower there were small shops where we got some ice cream. Since we were planning on coming back to the tower at night to see the light show, we decided to take another tour around the city.

Never stopped doing anything that day, so I can't say I wasted any second at my first day in Paris. It was a pretty eventful day and all what was needed was dinner and then go to see the light show at Eiffel Tower which happens after the sunset.

"Every evening, the Tower donned its blue night-lighting at sunset, dotted with the 12 yellow stars representing the European flag. The sparkling lights remained in place, glittering every hour on the hour for 5 minutes as usual"

After having a good day around paris, it was time to go back to the hotel to sleep and get up early for another day and different things!

Bonne Nuit!
